Airport to W Amman:
For our first night stay in Amman, Jordan, we decided to stay at W Amman. We were picked up at Amman International Airport (Queen Alia Airport) by the driver arranged by hotel concierge for 40 JD and ride was around 30-35 minutes as there was no traffic since it was 2 am when we left the Airport.
Grand Opening Day of the Property:
We were super thrilled to be staying at W Amman as it was the very first day of its grand opening and we are part of it. 3 weeks before our arrival, we arranged a ride from Concierge to pick us up at the airport. The driver who picked us was telling us lots of stories. It was well after 2 am and with no traffic, we reached the hotel property in 40 minutes.
At the entrance, all our baggages were scanned and we were escorted by a concierge to the front desk. Our room keys were ready as we were possibly the last one to check in. We applied the Suite Night Awards and were upgraded to the W Suite with 1 king bed on the 17th floor.
W Amman Features and Amenities:
W Suite at W Amman:
As a corner W Suite, we had an incredible view from the room in the morning, as we were jet lagged and woke up early. The Suite itself was quite spacious and we had to request an additional bed for the kids. We requested extra bed at no cost (as a SPG Platinum member) and it was promptly delivered. The room was super spacious and as always W beds were awesome. Everyone in W Amman, right from the time we stepped in to the time we checked out were super nice and courteous. Booking at W Amman:
We used 12000 Starwood points/night for our 2 night stays. As a Platinum member, we were able to use Suite Night Award for our stay, which got us upgraded to the very spacious W Suite at high floor with incredible views of Amman. This property is situated not too far from Downtown area and is one of the tallest buildings in Amman, hence the views from our room were amazing.

Sheraton Amman vs W Amman:
Since we are redeeming points for our stay in Amman, we had the option between Sheraton Amman and W Amman. Sheraton Amman had great reviews and from the pictures we could see Sheraton is stunning and beautiful as well. But W Amman was a grand new property. Since we stayed in W Amman on our first night of our trip, we again came back here for the last night of our stay as well because we liked the service we got here.
Our 2 different stays at this property was amazing, even though, thinking back, we could have tried out Sheraton Amman to have a different experience. Jordan is a beautiful country and has many attractions just by itself. So we will plan to go Jordan again next time and experience something new.
